El Mouly d`en Verduc is an ancient corn-mill along the bank of `La Quere`, a little mountain stream that winds
through Saint Laurent de Cerdans. Le Moulin is a south facing building that needs serious restoration work.It touches only on
the north side the neighbours house. It is a warm and beautiful spot with a little stream on one side of the building
flowing into a wider river at the other side.
The total floor surface is around 440 square meters, on four different
levels.
The basement, where one still can see the remains of the old watermill, the groundfloor level used to have an
`?picerie` an old grocery shop, with behind and a few steps lower, a large workshop on the river side. The habitation used to
be on the first and second floor. The house has many architectural and building features, with some extraordinary beautifull
details, like the big granite blocks around the windows.
The possibility`s are numerous, to give an example we have
added the plans as they were made by our architect for us. The reason why we sell this most beautiful spot in St. Laurent de
Cerdans, is that we already have a Mas outside the village. In addition we are buying a property in Norway, feeling it is
enough for us to carry on with 2 projects.
Saint Laurent de Cerdans. This charming village of 1,200 inhabitants bedded
in the slopes of the Pyrenean mountains has an old tradition of handcraft. It became known by forging, wood working,
manufacture of fabric and the production of the famous espadrilles ? Catalan sandals. Due to its situation in the South East
edge of France and at the border to Northern Spain, Saint Laurent has a rich cultural life and history with signs of Roman
times, Arab invasion in the early middle ages, West Gothic occupation and Catalan tradition. It has always been a region of
transition and exchange of different cultures.
Nowadays it is an attraction for tourists and all kind of nature activities
with its ample woodlands of chestnuts, oaks, beeches and pines and with its breath-taking views on the snow covered peaks of
the Canigou massive. The climate in this Mediterranean area is smooth and sunny, with short and mild winters.
In
the village you will find a primary school, 2 supermarkets, bakeries, post office, boucher, pharmacie, cinema, playground,
newspaper shop, large shop with Catalan fabric, 2 bars, a restaurant and 2 garages. There is a camping and a public swimming
pool and you can go horse tracking.

charming fishing villages like Collioure and Port Vendres to the south, is just over an hour drive. The Spanish border is
only 5 minutes away, with the hamlet, Tapis, which has a supermarket and a huge restaurant. The medieval town of Ma?anet de
Cabrenys is just a bit further, with its very big village bar, the `local social` were young and old meet, nice restaurants,
